So, now we are in a dilemma as to what to do with them. On one hand it seems a shame to cover them up, but on the other they do make the entrance hallway very dark. We have some time to make up our minds as we need to get some electrical work done first, so we're enjoying them in their natural state in the meantime.

New discoveries
A new year has seen us start redecorating again. Decided to strip the wallpaper off the hallways and prepare them for painting. We already knew about the hand-painted walls in the corridor which runs the length of the house, but the entrance hallway has revealed some beautiful art nouveau painted panels. They will have been the original wall decoration, done when the house was built in 1912.
So, now we are in a dilemma as to what to do with them. On one hand it seems a shame to cover them up, but on the other they do make the entrance hallway very dark.
